Current Bifrost 2 owners can order the Bifrost 2/64 analog card for self-installation for $300. “This is a big change, and an across-the-board improvement,” said Mike Moffat, Schiit’s Co-Founder and head of digital development. Step 1: Go to your Downloads folder (or Desktop, or wherever you had Windows put the drivers.) Step 2: Double-Click on the Schiit_USB_Gen2_1_03.zip file to expand it. Step 3: Click on the Schiit_USB_Gen2_1_03 folder to open it. Step 4: Connect the DAC with a standard USB A-B cable, 2M or less in length, with true USB 2.0 rating. So yeah. I don’t blame anyone for preferring the J2 to something like the Bifrost. The J2 is more technical, I think, while still being natural sounding and not dry, and is fundamentally a very good DAC in my opinion.
