The primary thing I think was they reduced the amount of the carry melt treatment a little. The basic difference between Series II and pre-series II (like yours) is the Series II guns have a Swartz firing pin safety.

Comparing a G30 to a Kimber Carry is like comparing a horse and wagon to a fancy chrome and blinged out pick up truck.
