John deere pto clutch problems

New User. Jun 13, 2015. #1. I have a 1010 with pto problems. It has dual pto's and it spins when not engaged but will stop when implement goes to the ground. The shaft will also stop when you push the handle forward to engage the pto, at the same time grinding some. Any suggestions.

Every thing I read is that the 955 has a wet multi-disk pto clutch. Could it be slipping or having other problems. any advise will be helpful. Thanks George .
